Q: Why am I having problems viewing the movies?
A: See Below
1. Make sure you're using the latest version of your browser. Internet Explorer is the most commonly used browser. To view our movies, you will need to have Windows Media Player version 9, 10, or higher installed on your computer. We have all the links to Windows Media Player and common browsers here.
2. Computer Security Features and Firewalls
If you are running Norton Security on your computer please turn off the privacy control temporarily to get the videos to work. If you're running any programs that act as a proxy (like WebWasher), you will also have to temporarily disable those to receive the video streams. If you are surfing from work (or home), and you have any kind of firewall running between you and the Net, you will have trouble accessing the videos unless it can be disabled.
Q: Why is the picture quality so poor when using AOL?
A: By default, AOL comes configured to compress images/pictures in web pages. This can make images look worse than they're intended to, just to save bandwidth. To change AOL's image compression settings*:
1. At the top of the AOL program, click on "Settings"
2. Click on "Internet[Web] Options"
3. Click on "Never Compress Graphics"
4. Click "Save"
*Note - AOL has different versions of it's software, if the above steps don't apply to your version, please use the AOL help menu inside the AOL software.
Q: How can I improve the quality of video?
A: In most cases, poor video quality is due to low bandwidth streams. You should have at least a 56k dial-up modem to view our streaming videos. Broadband, such as DSL or cable modems are optimal, but not a necessity. You can try pausing the video once it's started playing to let more of the stream buffer in your media player.
Q: The audio is choppy, what's the deal?
A: When viewing streaming video with audio, if your internet connection can't keep up with the streaming, both audio and video can become choppy. Please be patient and let the stream buffer enough to give you a better experience viewing the videos.
Q: I am using a Macintosh and the videos won't play, do you support Macintosh computers on your sites?
A: If you're using a Macintosh computer, our sites require Mac OS X with all current updates. We also require you have Windows Media Player 9 for OS X installed. If you don't have Windows Media Player for OS X installed, you can download it here:
Windows Media Player 9 for OS X

Technical Issues
There may be a technical problem preventing the video from working. All of the videos you can access from the Internet are stored on computers, and just like the computer you are using they are subject to malfunctions. Quite often these problems will produce an error message. It is very important to us to know when these malfunctions occur. Routing issues (kind of like traffic jams on highways) can also happen with internet connections. Most of the time the problem goes away on it's own. If you receive an error message when trying to access our videos, please use the form here and describe the trouble you're encountering.
Broadband Internet Connection
While a faster broadband internet connection(cable modem or DSL) are not required to view videos on our site, if it's available in your area, you should consider it. It means less waiting time, pages load faster, and higher quality videos stream and play much better. Satellite internet is also an option, although more expensive and slower than cable modem or DSL, it's still a great alternative to 56k dial up.
You can go to this website to see if there's broadband internet in your area: http://www.dslreports.com/.
